Accelex Joins Carta

At SixThirty, our mission is to back companies solving the most critical challenges at the intersection of wealth, health, and privacy. The acquisition of Accelex by Carta reinforces why we invest the way we do — and why our strategy continues to generate not just financial returns but also strategic impact for our investors.

The Significance of the Acquisition

Carta, a leader in private capital software, has acquired Accelex to deliver AI-powered data automation and transparency for institutional allocators. By embedding Accelex’s platform into Carta’s stack, investors gain the ability to:

  • Automate document collection from portals, emails, and transfer tools
  • Extract and validate KPIs like IRR, MOIC, and EBITDA using AI
  • Access asset-level transparency, portfolio exposure analysis, and benchmarking
  • Ensure structured, audit-ready outputs with a complete traceable data trail

In short, this is a transformational combination for capital allocators navigating the complexities of alternative investments, especially as the adoption of private market assets becomes mainstream.

Why Accelex

When we first invested in Accelex in 2021, the company was a small team with a bold vision: to solve one of the most painful bottlenecks in private markets — unlocking insight from unstructured data. Our conviction was rooted in three key elements:

  • Problem-first focus: Institutional investors were drowning in inconsistent, incomplete reporting from their GPs. A Carta–Accelex survey later quantified this, showing 92% of fund-of-fund investors cite data inconsistency as a drag on decision-making.
  • Purpose-built technology: Accelex’s template-less, AI-driven approach offered scalability and precision in a way spreadsheets and manual processes could not.
  • Execution-ready team: Founders Franck Vialaron and Michael Aldridge brought deep expertise in alternatives and benchmarking, having previously built and sold Expand Research to BCG.

As Atul Kamra, our Managing Partner, said at the time:

“The past decade has seen the mainstreaming of alternative and private market investments.  Yet, the data and reporting for private market investors and asset servicers remain trapped in the dark ages. Accelex’ data solutions automate and streamline middle and back office functions, moving us from an analogue to digital experience in this rapidly growing asset class.”

Proof of a Repeatable Strategy

The Accelex journey is a case study in SixThirty’s rigorous and collaborative approach:

  • We invest early but with conviction, backing teams solving enterprise-grade problems.
  • We lean into strategic collaboration, opening doors with ecosystem partners who become critical business model validators.
  • And we stay committed, backing companies through multiple rounds of growth.

Our strategy has consistently delivered outcomes that combine financial returns with strategic impact for our investors. Accelex’s acquisition by Carta is another proof point that companies solving foundational infrastructure challenges in financial services can create enduring value.

Looking Ahead

Private Market assets are expected to surpass $15 trillion AUM in the coming years, representing nearly half of global fund management revenues. As Carta and Accelex join forces, they are positioned to become the trusted infrastructure powering this future.

We are proud to have been part of Accelex’s journey. Congratulations to the entire Accelex team, and a special thank you to Franck and Michael for their leadership and vision. It has been a privilege to support you — from seed to Series A — and we look forward to seeing the impact you will now create as part of Carta.
