What is SixThirty Ventures (“SixThirty”) all about?

Our mission is to invest in the most innovative ideas in enterprise financial technology (“FinTech”), insurance technology (“InsurTech”), digital health, and information security across the globe, and work with corporate LPs to advise and help grow them into great businesses. SixThirty invests from first check through early-growth rounds. Our LPs are category leading institutions from across financial services, insurance, healthcare, and enterprise technology.

What will the Associate do?

SixThirty is hiring an Associate who will straddle our partnership work and our investment work. We work closely with our corporate Limited Partners to serve as an extension of their teams, and you will be responsible for synchronizing our investment work with our LP’s priorities, leading the execution of our go-to-market program, planning critical events to facilitate collaboration with startups & corporate LPs, and assisting with account management under the leadership of the Director of Corporate Partnerships.

The Associate’s responsibilities will include:

Key Account & Relationship Management

  • Support Director of Corporate Partnerships in growing and maintaining relationships with Corporate Partners
  • Create content to share with corporate partners, for example: newsletters, corporate partner impact reports/scorecards, and thought leadership
  • Gather feedback from corporate partners on their experience and impact with SixThirty
  • Working in close coordination with the Investment team, develop and maintain a sub-pipeline for corporate partners; coordinate periodic meetings to review opportunities
  • Provide excellent customer service to all corporate partners and stakeholders
  • Coordinate meetings and calls, and produce presentation materials

Portfolio & Pipeline Management

  • Run the portfolio management process including data management, heat map tracking, monthly reporting and leading meetings consisting of the firm’s partners and select LPs.
  • Produce bi-annual Investor Reports for all funds, quarterly capital account statements, and timely, ad-hoc portfolio analytics or analysis
  • Track portfolio impact success and note areas for development
  • Lead the firm’s global investment pipeline process by managing the database of prospective investments and holding regular firm-wide meetings to review opportunities
  • Manage the firm’s quarterly down-select process in which a short list of investment opportunities is selected for meeting with the SixThirty Investment Committee
  • Keep databases and tools updated, including the online SixThirty portfolio management platform

Program & Event Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute SixThirty’s go-to-market program including workshops and advisor sessions
  • Collect feedback and develop an evaluation method to assess go-to-market program strengths, identify areas for improvement, and execute on enhancements
  • Assume accountability for startups in the go-to-market program
  • Evaluate third parties such as software vendors to ensure SixThirty is offering the best experience for its portfolio companies and LPs
  • Assist SixThirty leadership in planning and execution of the Annual CEO Scale Up Summit

Communications

  • Lead SixThirty’s external communications, including newsletters, social media, thought leadership and other ad-hoc marketing and communications
  • Take ownership of SixThirty’s website and web presence
  • Contribute to internal and external community with thought leadership and networking

What are we looking for?

The areas we invest are some of the fastest growth areas in tech and venture capital. We are looking for someone that is comfortable and excited about working in a fast-paced environment, while also being a self-starter. The ideal candidate can juggle many responsibilities, while simultaneously prioritizing key activities. In our opinion, this may be demonstrated through the following attributes:

  • An undergraduate degree in business, economics, marketing, or related fields
  • 5+ years experience in venture capital, financial services, or insurance in a client-facing role
  • Experience with project management & very strong communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, while able to multi-task
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; bias toward action, efficiency, and outcomes
  • Experience cultivating and managing professional relationships
  • Respect for risk taking challenges of entrepreneurs
  • Interpersonal communication skills, critical thinking, and collaborative nature
  • Enjoys writing and can synthesize complex ideas, communicating concisely with depth & accuracy
  • Strong analytical and modeling capabilities
  • Passion for innovation and experience with adoption of new technology
  • A genuine curiosity in the areas where we invest

The offer

The Associate is a full-time paid position. The Associate reports to the Director of Corporate Partnerships. There will also be interactions with team members based in Amsterdam and Singapore, so occasionally the Associate will be asked to work during odd hours.
